Born December 12, 1957, in Oakland California.

Full name Shela Escovedo

Sheila Escovedo, a Bay Area native, born December 12, 1957, in Oakland California. First born of Pete and Juanita Escovedo. She has two brothers Juan and Peter Michael, and one sister, Zina. She began playing with the family instruments at the tender age of three. Was highly influenced by her father, Pete Escovedo (then band leader of the infamous Azteca) while watching him rehearse. At the tender age of 5, at the former Sands Ballroom in Oakland, with 3000 audience members in sheer anticipation, little Sheila was invited on stage by her father to play a solo. She was so young, she didn't even know the meaning of the word. Her father instructed her to just play. After an overwhelming response and feeling of heaven on earth, Sheila expressed to her dad that she knew exactly what she wanted to do. She was going to be a percussionist!

Early influences: Tito Puento, Tito Rodriguez, Miles Davis, Eddie Palmieri, Dizzy Gillespie, anything from the Motown Movement

First Late Night female band leader for "THE MAGIC HOUR" starring Ervin "Magic" Johnson.

Heads a production company HEAVEN PRODUCTIONS MUSIC with business partner and manager Lynn Mabry of White Rose Entertainment.

Segment Producer credits: 1998 WOW Awards, 1998 ALMA'S, 1998 AMERICAN EXPRESS Anual Corporate Celebration (Puerto Rico)
