playing drums at the age of three, sat in with Dizzy Gillespie when he
was 11 and, after extensive study and a stint in the Army, Gadd became
an important studio drummer
Simon Philips
An
innovative, aggressive drummer, Simon Phillips embarked on his musical
career at an early age. He showed affinity for the drums quickly —
beginning with a toy drum kit at age four, moving on to a snare and
cymbal set at six; by age 12.
